Managing Director of the YRC.
Instructor and Trainer at the Centre.
National Coach to the German Three Day Event Team.

BACKGROUND:

Educated at Ampleforth College and Bristol University, B.Sc.(Econ).
Trained initially by his mother, Mrs Nicole Bartle and then by Hans von Blixen-Finecke, (Gold Medal - Helsinki Olympics 1952).

COMPETITOR:

Christopher has competed internationally in DRESSAGE and THREE DAY EVENT.

 

Dressage.
Member of the British Dressage Team from 1981 to 1987.
Highest ever placed British Dressage rider in the Olympic Games. (6th, Los Angeles Olympics, 1984 with WILY TROUT)
National Dressage Champion in 1984 and 1985.
4th in the European Championships in 1985.
2nd in the Nashua Dressage World Cup in 1986.
1986 - Awarded the British Equestrian Federation's Medal of Honour.

Scottish Open Champion in 1991. (Up River)
Placed at Burghley **** in 1995 (Castle Hill)
3rd at Blenheim *** and 5th at Bramham *** in 1996
Completed Badminton **** in 1997.
Scottish Open Champion in 1997. (Word Perfect)
Member of the Gold Medal winning British Team in the European Championships in 1997.
Winner Badminton Horse Trials **** 1998 (Word Perfect)
Winner Achselschwang Horse Trials *** 1999 (Oscar)

Trainer:

Has trained many of the top British Three Day Event riders.
Received the British Horse Society's Trainers Award in 1995.
Dressage Trainer to British Olympic Three Day Event team Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000.
Awarded Hon. Fellowship of the British Horse Society in 2001 Now the Coach to the German Olympic Three Day Event Team - Winners of Team and Individual Gold medals at the Beijing Olympics in 2008
