You
can come for as long as you want. Arrivals are on a Sunday
afternoon to start riding on Monday morning finishing with
a competition Saturday afternoon.
If
you are staying longer than a week, Monday is the horses'
rest day, you can go shopping, sightseeing, do other sports
or just stay and relax or play games at the Centre.
YOUR
DAILY PROGRAMME:
Unless you come with your own horse
or pony, you will be offered the chance to care for a horse
on arrival. This is yours to care for under supervision throughout
your holiday.
Time
before breakfast and late afternoon is spent looking after
your horse and stable. During the day you will have two riding
lessons and receive training in the care of horses and stable
management.
The
afternoon will include practical training in lungeing, long-reining,plaiting
etc.
For
those who opt for the INTENSIVE holiday a third group
lesson takes place every day in the afternoon or evening.
It is also possible to book in extra private lessons if you
want, but try and arrange these before you come to avoid disappointment.

ENTERTAINMENT:
There may be a visit to a local horse
show or other attractions, such as the local swimming pool,
or the amusement park at Lightwater Valley... In the evenings
there are barbecues, games or visits to the cinema, bowling
or karting. You will need some extra money (£50-100
p.wk)to pay for these.

LANGUAGE
LESSONS:
The Centre offers an English lesson
programme for people wanting to improve their English. This
option includes 8 hours per week of English conversation with
our Instructors at the Centre. This is a classroom based programme
but is not like a language college. Emphasis is placed on
improving confidence in speaking English with new friends
and is mainly focused on subjects relating to the horse and
riding.
It
is also possible to arrange a formal English Language course
through the Harrogate Tutorial College in the afternoons,
which involves taking the bus or taxi to Harrogate each day.
If you are interested in this option we can put you in touch
with the College.
