Short
Courses. We

every level of rider.
Eventing
Training.
Eventing
is an Olympic discipline which includes the three elements
of Dressage, Cross Country (Speed & Endurance) and Show Jumping.
It
is known in some countries as Horse Trials or Combined Training.
In
France it is called 'Concours Complet' while in Germany it
is called the Military competition as it was designed originally
as a test for cavalry horses.
We
provide training courses that cover all aspects of 'Eventing'.
We can also provide facilities at which to base yourself and
your horses for the season.
The
Centre is ideally placed to take advantage of the competition
opportunities both in England and Scotland. We are situated
near the International CCI*** at Bramham which takes place
at the beginning of June each year.

Packages Available
DURATION:
You can come for a week or more or short
stays mid-week. The week starts on a Monday morning and finishes
on a Friday afternoon. Sunday is the arrivals day. It may
also be possible to book additional training over the weekend
THE
HORSES:
We keep a range of different types and
standards of horse. For the novice rider we have horses, which
are quiet and sensible but are trainedin the basic movements
of Dressage and which are safe to jump. If you are a more
competent rider, we have horses, which are suitable for a
higher level.
If
you would like to receive instruction in higher levels of
'Eventing' then you should enquire about a 'tailor-made' course
to suit your requirements.
THE
STANDARD EVENTING COURSE:
Is suitable for novice or intermediate
standard riders who are interested in eventing. It includes
2 group riding lessons each day shared with riders of similar
ability. If you want an extra group lesson each day you can
choose the INTENSIVE option.
You can also book extra group or private lessons during the
week. If possible these should be booked when applying for the
course, to avoid disappointment. As well as the riding, the
programme includes a lecture or demonstration each day covering
event horse care and management. There are also opportunities
to watch other horses and riders in training when you are not
riding.
THE
INTENSIVE EVENTING COURSE:
Includes 3 riding lessons each day shared
with 1 or 2 riders of similar ability. If you come for the week,
three of the lessons will be private sessions with Jane
or Christopher Bartle. You can also book extra group
or private lessons during the week. If possible to avoid disappointment,
these should be booked when applying for the course. As well
as the riding lessons, the programme includes a lecture or demonstration
each day covering the training of the Event Horse. There are
also opportunities to watch other horses and riders in training
when you are not riding.
'TAILOR-MADE'
COURSES FOR ALL RIDERS:
If you don't find a programme here to
suit you, let us know what you want to do and we can put together
a training course to meet your individual requirements. More
advanced or experienced riders particularly those who want
to come with their own horses, may find this option suits
them. The programme can be as intensive as you like or can
be arranged to provide time in the afternoons to relax, watch
others riding or perhaps go sightseeing. You can even combine
it with some trail riding in the Yorkshire Dales.
